Description
Sculptor Geza Gaspar was part of the team designing and creating a monument to the first people in Florida, the Tocobaga Indians. What is depicted here is his unfinished bronze piece showing detail of the foot of a life-sized bronze, one piece of several installed in Tiki Gardens of Indian Shores, FL. Bronze goes through many processes before acquiring its patina. Parts have to be poured separately and then welded together and ground down to an unnoticeable joint for the last stage prior to final finishes. Read more here: Tocobaga
Someone suggested that I paint a series of different shoes. I immediately became ultra-aware of people’s feet and how they are shod or if they are bare and why. Since I gave up painting in detail, I decided to try my hand at snapshots. Enjoy!
