Description
ARTIST STATEMENT:
I am an engineer and BIM/VDC Manager for a construction company in Tampa, Florida. My work involves coordinating 3D computer models of mechanical systems within the building models.
I am also a professional photographer specializing in sports, landscape, travel, wildlife and architectural photography. My brother-in-law is a mineral dealer and I helped him guide tour groups on excursions collecting minerals throughout South Africa, Madagascar and Namibia. This gave me the opportunity to discover the many beautiful vistas in these countries, especially Namibia.
I used my experiences and friendships there to begin offering photo safaris throughout Namibia.
This image is from the Architect’s home in the abandoned diamond mining town of Kolmanskop, Namibia. This triptych piece reveals how over time the constantly blowing winds of the desert can take over a once thriving home. Notice the beautiful colors and attention to detail of the hand painted trim work above the doors of this once cherished family home.
