Description
Helios was born in Los Toldos, provincia de Buenos Aires in 1928. He studied in 2 different Fine Arts school and graduate studies and has traveled from Spain, France and Italy to master and develop his talents. He became an art teacher for 25 years at Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires. He had exhibits in Madrid from 1986 and 1989. In his work he has 4 main series Tangos, Ballerinas’, Biblical and Pampas. He received several recognitions and awards, among which the “Grand Acquisition Prize: President of the Argentine Nation”, Engraving, National Visual Arts Hall (2004) stands out. To this is added, the 1st prize for painting Marcelo de Ridder (1952), the 1st prize in engraving of the XII National Hall of Engraving and Drawing (1976), the Grand Prize of Honor for Painting II Salon Cerealist (1978), among others. His inspiration for the tango series came from live dancers and the pampas series from indegidous people.
